We are now treating tweens, kids age 8-12. Kids in this age group may exhibit a variety of behavioral disorders or have angry outbursts. We have a wonderful staff that is experienced in helping kids find the right way to deal with their emotions.
We still treat teens 13-19, but those kids are kept seperate from the 8-12 year olds. Some of the activities we do with the 8-12 year olds include:
– Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
– Play therapy
– Group therapy
– Family therapy
– Individual therapy
If you have been having trouble with a younger child and don’t know what to do, please call us and get enrolled in OC Tween Center. Perhaps you have tried once a week therapy or Zoom therapy and you are not seeing results. Some kids need more help, and they need it to happen in person. That’s where OC Teen Center comes in. We do all our sessions in person at our beautiful location in Costa Mesa.
Please note- while we do offer medication for our teenagers with severe disorders, we don’t prescribe medication to kids under 12. Give us a call and let us try some other behavior modification and DBT styles of therapy before you try medication for kids under 12.
