FAQ

How often your teen receives treatment depends on the therapy they are enrolled for. We offer on an as-needed basis therapy and psychiatry sessions, as well as our Day Program and After School Program. Chat to us about your teen’s needs and we can conduct an assessment that will help us determine the best course of action.

The length of treatment varies for each individual and depends on a variety of factors. Our Day Program runs for five days a week, six hours a day, and our After School program runs for four days a week, three hours a day. The duration of each program depends on your child’s needs.

We love furry friends as much as you do, but it’s important for teens to focus on their happiness without distractions, so personal pets are not allowed at OC Teen Center.

You are welcome to bring snacks of your choosing (we will also provide some snacks as well as lunch for the Day Program). You can also bring a sweater or a jacket. We do not have lockers so please do not bring anything you would be worried about leaving out. Bring your school work if you are in the Day Program. No cell phones or other non-school related devices are allowed. If you bring any devices with you, we will ask that you check it in upon arrival and can retrieve it when you leave for the day.

As often as the treatment team feels is necessary—which could be once a week or a few times a week.

Yes, we treat eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health ailments.

Residential centers usually provide their own therapeutic services. If they do not provide their own psychiatric services, you can come to our program. Once you complete the residential program and if you are interested in a step down program, you can come to us.

The cost of therapy depends on the type of treatment. We work with most PPO insurance plans, and will start accepting HMO insurance from October 2021. We also offer sliding scale prices, and payment plans for cash patients.
