Therapy from Home

If your child needs help but you live too far from our facility to attend in person, you’ll be happy to know we can provide therapy for your child and your family from the comfort of your own home.

Some parents have a work schedule or transportation issue that prevents them from bringing their child to our center. In situations like this, we can conduct therapy sessions and psychiatrist appointments by video call. All you need is a computer and an internet connection.

These sessions are covered by your insurance the same way an in-person session would be covered. These sessions are known as “telehealth” appointments. You may have attended telehealth appointments with your primary care physician or other practitioners. It’s a new, more convenient way to get care and it’s becoming more popular this year.

We have many types of practitioners available for this service, including MD, PsyD, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists.

Just call us at 714-716-5044 and our admissions staff will explain all the details.

FAQ

Kids are more tech savvy than ever before, and they are comfortable in video sessions. For kids with no other option, mental treatment via telehealth can be a true life saver.

Back in 2021, many kids did complain of boredom when attending Zoom sessions for schooling. We have found that as the years have passed kids have less objections than they used to. The pandemic was a Zoom overload for some kids, but we have found that these feelings have subsided over the years. We have also found that kids love to have online friends. When participating in our program, your child will get to know other kids around their age who are having similar struggles. This can be the first step to socializing in person if your child has been socially withdrawn.

After you call in to enroll, we will give you a schedule. Then you will be sent a link via email to your session for the day. Simply click the link and the session will open. It’s as simple as that. Call our front desk for technical assistance if anything goes wrong.

Group therapy is the best part of the program! Your child will attend on a tablet in an actual in-person group session. Your child will be able to see and talk to all the other kids who are in the session at our in-person location. If you find that your child is socially isolated, group therapy is a great way to break them out of that and give them the skills they need to get back into the world.

In order to avoid any pro-drug messaging in our group therapy sessions, we do not treat substance abuse. We treat mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, but we recommend that kids who are struggling with addiction seek a fully dedicated program than includes specialized drug testing and addiction curriculum.

Medication is not mandatory but if you would like to explore the idea of getting medication our psychiatrist will be available to you.
